Clive Owen Drops Out From “Oldboy” remake

Back in December,it was reported that Clive Owen was in talks to replace Colin Firth as the villain in the upcoming “Oldboy” remake, to be directed by Spike Lee and starting Josh Brolin.

Now comes word that Owen has dropped out. He’s just one of many who want nothing to do with this remake, including Firth, Rooney Mara and Christian Bale.At this point, Brolin is still on board to play the lead and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) is in talks to play the female lead.

On top of that, production has been delayed. It turns out that Brolin has to participate in press junkets for “Men in Black 3,” which will push the start date for “Oldboy” till summer or beginning of fall.
